Feist, City and Colour, deadmau5, Blue Rodeo Playing 2012 Juno Awards
The winners of the 2012 Juno Awards won't be revealed until April -- and even the year's slate of nominations won't be announced for months. Still, there are four artists who will definitely be at Ottawa's Scotiabank Place the night of the Juno broadcast -- onstage, that is, and not just volunteering as seat-fillers for Shania, Celine, Avril or whoever.
The first round of Juno performers have been revealed, and they are: Blue Rodeo, City and Colour, deadmau5 and Feist -- Juno-winners all, and now that they're booked for the show, we're going to go ahead and place a bet of $50 and a jug of maple syrup that their names will also be called on nominations day. (Incidentally, Blue Rodeo were announced as 2012's Canadian Hall of Fame inductees earlier this week. They'll accept the honour during the Juno telecast.)
The 2012 Juno Awards will be broadcast live from Ottawa Sunday, April 1 on CTV. Canadian music's snazziest night last took place in the nation's capital in 2003. More performers are expected to be revealed in the (many) months ahead.
