Top 5 things to do in Toronto this week [April 7 - 13th] !

April showers mean one thing - the snow is gone!!! What more could the city ask for? A new mayor? Well, let's cross our fingers for that one come election day.

Getting right to the point, here are the five events I'm most excited for this week:

ART: Massive 10

Anytime the AGO throws a party - I want to be there. You should too. While this one is a fundraiser - meaning it comes with a hefty $160 a ticket price tag ( or $130 for AGO members) - remember you are supporting art in the city while indulging in an open bar and gourmet hors d'oeuvres all night. This being the 10th year of this annual party means a selection of installations, performances and pieces that highlight the past 10 years of creativity.

Where: Art Gallery of Ontario

When:  April 10th, 9pm

MUSIC: The National at Massey Hall

If you're hoping to catch some live music this week - attempt to get your hands on a ticket to one of the National's shows at Massey. The three night stand at this classic venue marks the huge step up the band has taken over the past year. For too many years, they struggled to fill smaller venues for one night stands - but their last record changed the game - and I couldn't be happier for them.

Where: Massey Hall

When: April 9, 10, 11th, 8pm

FUN: Blue Jays Games

While I'm not usually one to ever recommend sports - what better way to welcome your body back to the wonderful world of bearable spring weather than a game at the Skydome? If it's nice enough to have the dome down, well, that's the definition of living in this town, by some people's standards. Even if you're like me and known nothing about sports - a game is always a fun/different/expensive way to get drunk with your pals.

Where: Rogers Centre

When: April 8,9,10

THEATRE: 50 Shades! The Musical
The parody that has taken NYC by storm is currently making its tour stop in Toronto, so catch it before it's gone! Even if you've never read the kinky tale of BDSM hero Christian Grey - you will still find this hilarious. There's something truly glorious about a musical filled with swears words, handcuffs and simulated sex.

Where: Bluma Appel Theatre

When: Until April 13th

EXHIBITION: National Motorcycle and Tattoo Show

C'mon, there's basically no chance of this being anything less than a good time. Burly, leather clad, tatted up men drooling over motorcycles? It's an SNL sketch waiting to happen. Also, any chance to get a feel for the best tattoo artists in the city is an opportunity worth taking.

Where: Better Living Centre, Exhibition Place

When: April 12-13th, 10am - 5pm
