Orange Is the New Black star explains why she stood up to homophobic subway preacher
If you have yet to see footage of Orange Is the New Black's Lea DeLaria totally SLAYING a religious fanatic on the New York City subway, you're missing out, big-time. Long story short: Some dude felt it necessary to tell everyone what they need to do to get into heaven (because he knows, OK?!) while being incredibly sexist and homophobic at the same time. Of course. Check it:

DeLaria basically handed his ass back to him on a platter and it's no wonder the clip went viral. Now, she's opened up to the New York Post about why she got so passionate and so into the argument.

First, some background facts: "He was saying women should be subservient to men and that they should dress a certain way," she recalled. "He literally said that the problems in the world were because of homos. That we were all driven by our lust, that we were all sinners and we were all going to hell...When he literally used the word 'homo,' I decided to get up."

Why? Because "you must always face evil and take it down. The reason evil thrives in the world, the reason hatred thrives in the world, the reason bullying thrives in the world is because of complacency. As long as we continue to take it, it will continue to thrive."

YES. Yes, yes, yes. *high five*
