Five coolest Montreal suburbs to call home
The Agence métropolitaine de transport (AMT) wants to make your life easier and give you a great treat just in time for the holidays by offering you two free months on your first year OPUS+ membership. Say what?!

Not only will you save time by not having to line up on the first of every month - let’s be honest, no one ever remembers to load up their pass before then - but you’ll also be totally covered in case you lose your OPUS or someone steals it and you’ll be able to plan direct payments in advance. All that to say you won’t have to lift a finger for the next 12 months.

The sole catch? You have to sign up before December 8, 2014, but you can do so online right HERE

To celebrate this rad offer, we thought we’d take a closer look at the five coolest Montreal suburbs to call home, all of which are serviced by the AMT train, of course.

Pointe-Claire

Located on the West Island, this suburb offers great shopping at the Fairview Pointe-Claire mall, as well as plenty of fine dining options, and it all comes with a small town charm. They’ve even got their own windmill!

Mont-Saint-Hilaire

If you want to be right on the water and have access to hiking and cross-country skiing on your doorstep, but still only be 40 minutes away from downtown Montreal, look no further!

Laval

Foodies will have a field day exploring all of the hot new restaurants constantly popping up in this suburb and there are plenty of options for retail therapy, too. Sign us up.

Beaconsfield

The perfect balance between urban and country living, Beaconsfield offers plenty of activities, but most impressive of all is its long list of parks where you can enjoy a variety of sports, from soccer to tennis and hockey.

Saint-Bruno

Fab shopping at Promenades St-Bruno, a national park AND a super spot to ski – this suburb really covers the Big Three. What more could anyone ask for?
