Is Sofia Coppola's BIG 2015 project a Christmas special with George Clooney, Miley Cyrus and Bill Murray?!?!?!
2015 is going to be a big year for Sofia Coppola!

Right now, Coppola is in pre-production for a Christmas telefilm special that's apparently going to star George Clooney, Miley Cyrus, Bill Murray, Amy Poehler and Maya Rudolph.

No release date has been announced yet and no channel is involved as of right now, but if all goes well, this year we'll have something to watch other than the Pope's midnight mass and Miracle on 34th Street for the 34th time.

It's not the only project Sofia Coppola is working on this year, either. We know that American Zoetrope bought the rights to Fairyland: A Memoir of My Father and that Sofia will be working on turning the book into a movie along with her brother Roman.

Fairyland is the memoir of Alysia Abbott who was raised by her single gay father. Speaking of the novel, Coppola said: “I love the book Fairyland; it’s a sweet and unique love story of a girl and her dad, both growing up together in 1970s San Francisco. I think it will make an engaging and touching movie on a subject I’ve never seen before."

We've also heard she's coming out with a remake of Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid. We don't have a lot of information about it, but we do know Coppola wanted to get it done fast. Meanwhile, here's a little video made by FOD about Coppola's project:

If her take on The Little Mermaid is only half as good as this fake preview, it's gonna be awesome! Especially since top model Andrej Pedij is going to star in it. We can't wait for more details.
