Kesha appeals Dr. Luke verdict, compares working with the producer to “slavery”
Following a court verdict which demanded Kesha continue working with producer Dr. Luke - who she has accused of sexual assault - and her label, the singer has filed an appeal.

More specifically, her lawyers have submitted paperwork requesting that Justice Shirley Kornreich's decision be overturned, terminating Kesha’s contract with Sony.

Calling into question the judge’s assumption that Kesha can simply continue working with the label while not being involved with Dr. Luke, the appeal states that “although it recognized that 'slavery was done away with a long time ago' and that 'you can't force someone to work... in a situation in which they don't want to work,' the Court's ruling requiring Kesha to work for Gottwald's companies, purportedly without his involvement, does just that.”

According to Vulture, the appeal also states that the judge was wrong in saying there was no harm done, as Kesha will see her fame "fade quickly" if she cannot work with the people she chooses.

What do you think: Is comparing Kesha's situation to slavery going too far?
