98,5 FM : Dany Dubé won’t be analyzing upcoming Habs games

For many hockey fans in Montreal, the duo of Martin McGuire on description and Dany Dubé on analysis is an authority on the subject. Even if they’re on radio rather than television, many people opt for this option because of the quality of the two men’s work and the chemistry between them.

It’s not for nothing that they’re still around after years of working together: the recipe works, and the fans are there. This makes it possible to follow the match without even watching it, which is much easier said than done.

That said, for the Canadiens’ next few games, the duo will be separated, as Dany Dubé will not be analyzing the Tricolore’s games, as McGuire noted this afternoon on 98.5 FM.

His place will be taken by Antoine Roussel, who was at Martin McGuire’s side last night during his appearance on Amateurs de sports.

The good news is that, according to McGuire, it’s nothing serious for Dubé: in fact, he’s only taking time off for the holidays, and we should expect him back soon.

He didn’t say exactly when his long-time partner would be back, but it would still be quite surprising to see him return during the Habs’ current holiday trip.

Logically, it would be quite surprising to see him return while the Tricolore is on the road, we agree.

In the meantime, it will be up to Antoine Roussel to replace Dubé, who is increasingly present in the Montreal sports media landscape. A regular on 98.5 FM, he has also been seen in a studio analysis role on TVA Sports.

I can’t wait to see what the results will be.

In Brief

– Today’s picks.

– We’re having fun at ÉCJ on this day off. If hockey doesn’t work out for Macklin Celebrini, he can always play quarterback, hehe.
