There's another crazy headline coming out of Britney Spears' Circus tour today. And props, for once, to La Brit: this time it has nothing to do with what Spears did, said or purchased from the feminine section of her local drugstore.
A 20-year-old fan burst onstage during Spears' encore Saturday night in Connecticut. Multiple videos from the concert show the fan, since identified as Kyle King of Orlando, Fla., managing to break through security from his front row seat. Once onstage, King is shown breaking out his basic, skinny-white-boy dance moves in such close proximity to the popstar he could probably smell her Curious eau de toilette (perhaps augmented with just a note of fear sweat).
Some of Spears' dancers -- appropriately decked out in foxy-cop costumes -- managed to sweep the offending fan from the stage. Though King didn't come into contact with Spears, the pop star appears visibly frightened in some of the videos, freezing for a few beats before gamely returning to the "Womanizer" routine.
After being removed from the stage, King was arrested by Connecticut state police, E! News reports. According to TMZ, the 20-year-old had been drinking prior to his arrest and would not cooperate with police.
Since his release early Sunday on a $250 US cash bond, King has taken to his MySpace page to clear the air, posting a video since obtained by E! News.
"Honestly, it really wasn't that big of a deal, it's being blown out of proportion," King says in the video.
"As far as me being crazy, I don't understand how I'm crazy when I'm at a concert, I've been a Britney Spears fan since 1999," he continues -- perhaps confusing the rules of Britney Spears concert etiquette with that of an Iggy Pop show.
"I'd do it again in two seconds."
