Robert Pattinson isn't dating you. And he's not dating Kristen Stewart, either.
When even Gossip Girl has spun the K-Stew/R-Pattz romantic rumour mill into the latest tepid Dan/Serena storyline, you'd think Twi-hards would hardly need further confirmation that Stewart isn't running her hands through Pattinson's perma-greasy hair both onscreen and off.
But hey, it's not like one more denial will hurt anyone. For one thing, it means we get to post a new picture of the actor Vanity Fair refers to as "an exquisite beauty—with perfectly formed red, red lips and a face that might have been dreamed by the Romantic poets." (High-five, VF. Stephenie Meyer herself couldn't have been more florid.)
Pattinson is the cover boy for VF's December issue, and as he recently told the magazine, any reports of a romance between him and Stewart are false.
“It doesn’t make any difference what you say [to the tabloids]. I’ve literally been across the country [from Kristen], and it’s like ‘Oh, they were on secret dates!’ It’s like ‘Where? I can’t get out of my hotel room!’”
Stewart, in her ever charming manner, backs up Pattinson's statement.
"It's so retarded," she told the magazine.
Of course, it doesn't help that even Twilight's director, Catherine Hardwicke, is helping fluff expectations that the co-stars are itching to take their onscreen soulful staring sessions to the next level.
Hardwicke told VF that there was a "nervous attraction" between Pattinson and Stewart during the making of Twilight.
“What Rob and Kristen had is a multitude of feelings for each other. Complex feelings for each other,” says Hardwicke, most likely referring to the feelings coming directly from their pants. “It was what we needed. Complex, intense fascination.”
