From the 'say it isn’t so' files: Paris Hilton has sparked rumours of an engagement after being spotted sporting a diamond band on her ring finger.
Hilton, who’s only been dating Benji Madden (also known as the less attractive half of Good Charlotte) for two weeks, was photographed leaving Beverly Hills jewelry store XIV Karats on Friday wearing a ring on her engagement finger, reports People magazine. See video here.
If the rumours are true, Hilton is one step closer to becoming sister-in-law to BFF/frenemy Nicole Richie, who is Joel Madden’s baby mama. Of course, this could merely be a publicity stunt, but we’re loathe to think such things of Hilton, who spent Sunday afternoon wandering around L.A. with a Buddhist monk in a highly choreographed photo op.
Meanwhile, Madden’s ex-fiancee is making it clear that she was not dumped for the blond heir-head. Model Sophie Monk, who split from the Good Charlotte guitarist last month, said in a statement, "Let me make this as plain as possible – Benji did not leave me for Paris Hilton," reports Australia's Herald Sun.
