That's the Way Love Goes: Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri Reportedly Split

It's been a rough few weeks for Janet Jackson. Not only did she lose her brother, she's now reportedly lost her longtime boyfriend.

According to Us Weekly, Jackson has split from Jermaine Dupri. The music exec, who was noticeably absent from Michael Jackson's July 7 memorial, dated the singer for seven years and produced several tracks on her last two albums.

"His friends are telling people it's over," a source tells Us Weekly, while another adds, "They have been moving in different directions for a while."

Jackson's rep has not commented on the report, while Dupri's blog makes no mention of his rumoured ex-girlfriend. (Yesterday, however, he did post a quote from Star Wars' Yoda: "Do or do not, there is no try." A rumination on a failed relationship or a comment on the video he posted earlier of a guy chugging a whole bottle of Petron tequila?)

But even if the split reports are true, Miss Jackson (if you're nasty) may not be alone for long. According to reports, she has expressed interest in raising her late brother's three children. Inside Edition's Jim Moret told CBS News that Janet has bonded with her nephews and niece since their father's death.

"She has said, 'I'll step forward and I will raise them if this is what they want,' " Moret said.
