Is the world OD'ing on Megan Fox? Editors of sites across the Web are banding together to institute a media ban on the sultry sexpot and here's the kicker: the editors are men!
The one-day boycott, led by Asylum.com, is being supported by other dude-centric sites, including AskMen, Whip It Out Comedy, Banned in Hollywood, On205th, I Heart Chaos, Yep Yep, Just a Guy Thing, The Bachelor Guy and Double Viking. It calls for Aug. 4 to be a Megan Fox media blackout day, meaning the world will be deprived of the Transformers star's trademark batshit crazy soundbites and photos of her biting her thumb (what's up with that, anyway?).
"You can have too much of a good thing," AskMen's editor-in-chief James Bassil told the New York Daily News. "We're joining in the media blackout and giving our readers a one-day reprieve from the woman we've been drowning in all summer."
"Listen, we love Megan. She's responsible for driving more eyeballs to our sites — just by getting photographed walking down the street in a white T-shirt — than any other celeb alive," Eric Rogell of The Bachelor Guy told the Daily News. "[But] it's time to give another young actress a shot at the attention. We're taking a one-day break from covering Megan's latest nail polish colour and instead promoting another 'Next Big Thing.'"
We here at Dose.ca have fantasies about media blackout days, but it's less about boycotting Megan Fox and more about boycotting Michael Jackson and Twilight. That sounds like our own little slice of heaven... [Ed. note: Keep dreaming! Now go build me another photo gallery of sparkly vampires or you're fired!]
