Lindsay Lohan Defends Her Fashion Line, Nipple Tassels

October 15, 2009

Lindsay Lohan's collection for Ungaro at Paris Fashion Week may have been universally reviled, but the Mean Girls actress is doing the mature thing: distancing herself from the collection's failure.

First, the 23-year-old "creative consultant" told People the line wasn't up to par because of time restrictions, blaming it on "coming in so late and having not that much time to do a whole collection." LiLo apparently pulled the fashion equivalent of writing her senior thesis in one night after skipping an entire semester of classes. (Not that we ever did that in university, of course!)

Lohan also claimed ignorance when it came to the infamous heart-shaped pasties and nipple tassels.

"I wasn't aware of the nipple tassels on the girls until they were walking out," she said.

In other words, Lohan's collection was a failure because she didn't try very hard or pay much attention to it. Problem solved!

But sorry, fashionistas, that's not the last you'll see of Lohan: she's already working on her next line for Ungaro, set to be unveiled in January.

"I am going back to Paris for the next collection," Lohan said, though she appeared to try to lower expectations by adding: "I'm still learning."
