Lindsay Lohan: From Mean Girl to Jewel Thief?

June 16, 2009

Now that the acting gigs have all but dried up, is Lindsay Lohan opting for a new career as a jewel thief?

Scotland Yard is investigating after diamond earrings and a necklace the actress wore during a photo shoot for Elle magazine went missing, reports People.

The bling, reportedly worth $400,000 US and on loan from Dior, was no where to be found once the shoot was over. The magazine and jeweler attempted to get in touch with the actress for two weeks before turning the matter over to the police, reports Holy Moly.

"We inquired and everyone from the shoot is being questioned," Lohan's spokesperson told People. "Hair, make up, stylist ... even photographers. Lindsay hopes they find the jewels. She is happy to cooperate."

This isn't the first time LiLo has been accused of having sticky fingers. The New York Post claims Louis Vuitton has refused to outfit her after she once walked off with their samples following a photo shoot.

Meanwhile, the actress was spotted jetting from Los Angeles to New York's Southampton on Friday to party with her brother at nightspot Axe, reports Newsday. According to sources, Lohan insisted no fellow clubbers take her picture. Perhaps she's saving all her best poses for her mugshot?
