Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, James Franco...Zac Efron? Yes, the High School Musical heartthrob is just the latest Hollywood star to hitch his adorable little wagon to Funnyordie.com.
This morning, a new video (helmed by Efron's Hairspray director Adam Shankman) debuted on the site.
The gist: Efron hosts a pool party with Hollywood pals like Vanessa Hudgens, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, Lance Bass, Carmen Electra and Queen Latifah among others (we're thinking the Ivy was booked up). The awesomeness of said party takes a turn for the wacky when Efron's white-trash "Uncle Hank" (Tom Lennon) and his pregnant girlfriend Randi (Nicole Sullivan) crash the shindig. Awkward moments with Brody Jenner discussing Keynesian economics and redneck jokes ensue. And, of course, it’s perfectly timed to remind us that 17 Again (starring several of the names above) is in theatres this weekend. (Yay, viral-ish marketing!)
Shankman, who has a producer's credit on 17 Again (buy your tickets now!) shared some of his favourite scenes from the skit with People magazine: "Nicole Sullivan sitting over a waterfall in a pool thinking that her water burst -- because she's pregnant. Justin Long drinking beer underwater and eating hot dogs (a.k.a. the poop) while we were shooting with under water cameras."
Yep. The best they have to offer is a throw-away poo joke. Is it classic humour or totally lame? Watch video below, then discuss.
To Efron's credit, he's a likable straight man in the clip. But then, we're thinking the kid's had some experience playing "embarrassed" lately (see: Interview mag photo shoot, and you know, that whole High School Musical thing).
