Canada may have turned 141 years old this week, but there’s a much more momentous birthday in need of some serious recognition. No, we’re not talking about Pamela Anderson turning 41 on Tuesday (although that is important.) We’re talking, of course, about Lindsay Lohan, who somehow made it to her 22nd birthday in one piece.
The starlet celebrated Wednesday night with a prom-themed birthday party at Teddy’s in Los Angeles. According to People, girlfriend Samantha Ronson stayed close to the birthday girl’s side, only stepping away to take over the spinning duties from DJ AM. (All together now: awwwww!)
Among the 50 guests were Joel and Benji Madden, Audrina Patridge, Jamie Lynn Sigler, Dina Lohan and -- just to add an extra dash of creepy -- David Spade. (Does anyone else think Spade is the Hollywood equivalent of the high school janitor who’s always asking kids where the party’s at this weekend?)
Lohan, whose birthday cake featured a picture of Marilyn Monroe in her wind-swept dress, called in to Ryan Seacrest’s radio show Thursday morning to chat about the party. She said her birthday wish was for "everyone to leave everyone alone [and] no more tabloids."
As for her plans for the coming year, Lohan denied reports that she’s recording a duet with pal Lily Allen, saying instead that she’s focusing on her new album, which will be “urban dance, Rihanna-esque,” and her upcoming film, Labor Pains. She added, "I just want to live a happy, healthy year, and continue on the path that I've been on. And, you know, be with the person that I care about, and my family, and I think that's it."
