Our prayers have been answered: Hollywood’s creepiest hanger-on, Sam Lutfi, has volunteered to slink back into the shadows, at least for another month.
Lutfi and Britney Spears’ family reached an agreement to extend the temporary restraining order against him, delaying Jamie Spears’ plan to request that the order be made permanent in a court hearing today.
"Both parties are happy and will continue to work together to further resolve any issues that may have come up in the past," Lutfi’s rep, Michael Sands, told the Associated Press.
Lutfi has been forbidden from being within 250 yards of Spears and her estate since February.
In other Spears hanger-on news, sources tell E! News that Jamie Spears has allowed his daughter’s self-appointed "cousin," Ali Sims, back into the fold after she promised to cut her ties to Lutfi.
Meanwhile, CBS released the first publicity stills of Spears from her guest spot on How I Met Your Mother on Monday. Spears, wearing a long dark wig and glasses, plays Abby, a receptionist at a dermatologist's office who falls for the show’s main character.
"Working at How I Met Your Mother has been so terrific," a surprisingly coherent-sounding Spears told Entertainment Tonight Thursday. "Everyone, including the cast, the crew and the producers, has been wonderful and Abby is such a fun girl to play. I'm having a blast!"
