Jennifer Aniston continues to try and convince the world she’s a strong and independent woman who has moved on from that whole Brangelina thing, this time by reportedly going on a publicity stunt date with actor Gerard Butler. The New York Post’s Page Six reports that Aniston and Butler were seen having dinner at Los Angeles’ Tower bar.

Aniston and the shouty Scotsman were linked once during the Toronto International Film Festival in September, though Butler recently denied it, telling E! News: "This came from a seven-minute conversation that we had at the Toronto Film Festival at a big party, and the next minute it's in all the papers."

A source told Page Six of the new sighting: "They were very affectionate to each other. There was another man at the table, but he looked like he was a chaperone—or just there to stop tongues wagging. They basically ignored him." 

The stunt date certainly wasn’t an attempt at damage control after Aniston was recently seen taking her last fake BF, John Mayer, back—a move that some would consider not very strong and definitely not very independent.
