Infighting, romantic rivalry, silent treatments: the cast of Brothers & Sisters are just like a real family after all. Reports suggest that Balthazar Getty's recent dalliance with Sienna Miller didn't just put the final nail in his marriage's coffin, it also created some behind-the-scenes tension on the set of the ABC drama.
Getty (for those of you who have already repressed the memory), spent his summer hiatus frolicking with the shirt-averse British actress in Europe. The vacation, which was dutifully documented by the paparazzi, didn't just come as a shock to Getty's recently estranged wife of eight years, it also reportedly floored his B&S co-star, Matthew Rhys.
Rhys, who dated Miller briefly after co-starring together in The Edge of Love, introduced his onscreen brother to the actress. According to E! News' Mark Malkin, Rhys had no idea Getty and Miller were hooking up until one of the show's producers broke the news to him, and now the actors are no longer speaking to each other on set.
A rep for Getty dismissed the report, telling E! News, "May make an interesting bit of more gossip but completely untrue."
True or not, the producers of the show should somehow try to work the rivalry into the storyline. Or, even better, have their characters grow even closer, forcing the actors to deliver long speeches about how they'll always have each other's back and they'll never betray each other! Not only would it be squirmingly awkward, it'll take focus off Justin and Rebecca's icky romance.
