If celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay gets accused of having an affair in the media, you know he’s going to drop some colourful (and profanity-laced) quotes when he gets around to defending himself.
According to UK paper the Daily Telegraph, Ramsay finally spoke out at a recent cooking demonstration about rumours that he is having an affair with Sarah Symonds—an adultery website spokesperson and author of an adultery handbook (we didn’t make this up). “What a week I have had,” he said to the audience. “I want to give you a big thank you for coming - it's been a tough week.”
Then Gordo let loose with his usual f-bomb-flecked style to joke about the allegations. "We had a new bed delivered this week - the paparazzi outside must have been thinking that I'd been forced to sleep in the basement,” he quipped. “Mattress, mistress, mattress, mistress. What a load of bollocks. My mum is here so I'm on my best behaviour, ooh la la. Oh f*ck it, I didn't do it mum. I love you. All my family here are well."
British tabloids have alleged that Ramsay—who has been married to wife, Tana, for 12 years and has four children with her—carried on a seven-year affair with Symonds, which included hotel room trysts and drug-fuelled romps. Thus far, Tana is standing by Ramsay and is said to look “relaxed” about the whole ordeal.
F*ck me!
