While we never like to rejoice over other people’s misfortune (ah, who are we kidding?), Natalie Portman and singer Devendra Banhart have reportedly broken up – leaving the hot actress single and, in that anything-could-happen-but-probably-won’t sort of way, within our reach.

Portman and the weird-bearded hipster called it quits after about seven months of dating, according to Us Weekly.

"Things just weren't working out," a source told Us. "Natalie is young and they just were very different ultimately. She's really a free spirit. She's complicated because she's very serious about her career and smart but also artistic and free-thinking. It's tough to match."

The couple started dating in March after Portman appeared in Banhart’s “Carmensita” video and have traveled together to Cannes and Israel.

Given the somewhat lengthy nature of the relationship, we’re volunteering to be Natalie’s much-needed rebound fling. We’re clean shaven, in good shape, we’ve got our own place and promise not to ask (many) questions about what it was like to be in Star Wars.
