Just when we finally began to recover from the image of Ryan Gosling knocking boots with Kirsten Dunst comes a new Hollywood odd couple to haunt our nightmares: Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon. On Wednesday, Access Hollywood reported that the May/December pair was engaged, and now Latina Magazine is claiming the couple has wed.

According to the magazine’s website, Carrey and Cannon eloped on an island Wednesday in a small ceremony attended by a few close friends, including rapper Da Brat. 

The New York Post reports they were wed at Carey's new home in Eleuthera in the Bahamas, while E! News is quoting Nick's relative, Linda Cannon, who says he called her with the happy news.

"Yes, we know. He called us and told us all about it," she said. "We are happy for him. If that is what he wants, then we are happy for him."

Reps for the couple have yet to comment, but the 38-year-old glass-shattering diva has been reportedly hooking up with the 27-year-old Nickelodeon star since March, when he directed the video for her new single, “Bye Bye.” Engagement rumours kicked into high gear last week when Carey was spotted sporting a giant rock that looked remarkably similar to the engagement sparkler Cannon gave his one-time fiancée Selita Ebanks.

Ring re-gifting? Oh no, he di’nt! Mimi’s not going to be the only one emancipated once she finds out about that.
