Watchmen Star Slams Fanboys

March 3, 2009

Superheroes are typically good natured and polite. Not in the satirical Watchmen universe, of course, where heroes are often vulgar, disturbed and downright rude. Taking his role from the film a little far is British actor Matthew Goode, who recently had some choice words for disapproving fans.

British tab The Sun reports that after learning fans of the graphic novel disagreed with his casting as jetsetting superhero Ozymandias, the Brideshead Revisited actor told an interviewer, “The negative feedback is relayed by my friends. I think the fanboys aren’t particularly happy – there are a load of people they’d have rather had in before me. It’s already being slated before they’ve seeing anything.

“But if fanboys still hate the film after going and seeing it, they can all line up and s*** my d***,” Goode put it delicately, also adding,  “I don’t give a f***. I’m having a child and that’s more important to me – so I don’t give a f***,” before finishing off with, “Grow a d***.”

Good thing he’s not taking the criticism personally.

Watchmen opens on March 6.
