Lindsay Lohan has been hospitalized, and this time it has nothing to do with "exhaustion."

The starlet's rep, Leslie Sloane-Zelnick, confirmed to E! News that her client was admitted to a hospital on Thursday to have her appendix removed.

"She was not feeling well and went to her doctor," Sloane-Zelnick tells E! "She went to the hospital last night, and her appendix is being taken out today.

"I'm shocked," a friend of the actress tells People magazine. "I talked to her last night and she told me she was not feeling well but she thought it was a 24-hour-flu."

"She'll be recuperating for a few days," Lohan's rep adds, "but then she will be totally fine."
