Hipsters everywhere breathed an ironic sigh today, as quirky Hollywood couple Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard announced that they tied the knot over the weekend.
"We are happy to confirm that Maggie and Peter were married on Saturday, May 2," a rep for Gyllenhaal told People.
See, guys, you don't need to shave your Grizzly Adams beard in order to find love! (You still need to shower, though. Yeah, we're talking to you, Carl.)
Following Salma Hayek's lead, Gyllenhaal and Sarsgaard held their wedding in Italy, at the luxury hotel Masseria in Brindisi. The couple exchanged vows in a small ceremony witnessed by about 40 guests, including Maggie's hunkolicious little brother Jake Gyllenhaal and his main squeeze, Reese Witherspoon.
The newlyweds have been together for nearly seven years – several centuries in Hollywood years! – and have a two-year-old daughter, the awesomely-named Ramona.
