Has the Shia LaBeouf-hand-mangling-drunken-car-wreck story turned into the Shia LaBeouf -hand-mangling-drunken-car-wreck-plus-possible-Hollywood-love-triangle story?
The New York Daily News is reporting that LaBeouf’s originally unidentified passenger was Transformers co-star Isabel Lucas—the girlfriend of Entourage star Adrian Grenier. Lucas and the driver of the vehicle hit by LaBeouf were not seriously hurt in the Sunday accident, according to authorities. All three were taken to the hospital, where LaBeouf underwent surgery to his extensively injured left hand. The two women were later released with only minor injuries.
When asked about his girlfriend’s condition, Grenier “was testy” and had no comment for the New York Daily News. (Yeeesh!) Most insiders on the Transformers set seem to be playing the “they’re just friends” card.
Lucas returned to the Transformers 2 set Monday, while LaBeouf will be out of commission for about a month thanks to his injuries.
While LaBeouf was charged with only a misdemeanor DUI, a recent interview in Details magazine doesn’t make one confident that this incident will teach him anything about the dangers of drinking and driving. LaBeouf told the mag of his issues with alcohol: “…I don't know how to do it like a gentleman. I don't know how to have one drink.”
