Cowboys to Run Jessica Simpson Out of Dallas by Sundown

In case it was any secret, the ~~biggest mouth on~~ voice of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, wide receiver Terrell “T.O.” Owens, wants Jessica Simpson to know she isn’t welcome at any of the team’s future games.

The Associated Press reports that the outspoken imp made some not-so-jokey jokes at Jessica’s and her current beau, Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo’s expense.

“Right now, Jessica Simpson is not a fan favorite -- in this locker room or in Texas Stadium,” T.O. told AP on Wednesday (Dec. 19).

The comments refer to Romo’s shit-tastic play in a Cowboys’ 10-6 loss to division rivals the Philadelphia Eagles. Simpson, who attended the game, possibly proved to be a distraction. It wasn’t just that Romo played bad; he played the worst game of his career. The only time he played close to that bad was last season when his then-girlfriend, country singer Carrie Underwood, watched the game. A pattern?

“With everything that has happened, obviously with the way Tony played and the comparison between her and Carrie Underwood, I think a lot of people feel she has taken his focus away,” Owens said.

“Other than that, she was high on my list until last week,” Owens said, adding: “I got a message for her when we make the playoffs. Just stay tuned.”

Since that AP story, the Dallas Morning News reported today (Dec. 20) that Owens has recanted his comments or, at least, said the media blew them out of proportion.

Doing a complete 180, T.O. offered up some pro-Jessica love for the press, that in no way reeked of “I really want to get some passes, so I’ll apologize for Tony’s sake” opportunism.

“I understand how everybody is looking at Jessica Simpson as a distraction and that's definitely not how I saw it. That's how the media saw it. If anybody wants to look at it as a negative, they can do that. But for me, she was there to support Tony,” an uncharacteristically apologetic Owens told the newspaper. “He had a bad game. I don't think she had anything to do with it. We lost as a team.”

For Simpson, this comes as sad news as it seems sports spectator is set to join pop singer, actress, wife, product spokesperson and nose-breather on the growing list of things she’s not any good at.
