Earlier this week, we were feeling pretty bad for Hulk Hogan: the unfortunately bearded pro wrestler had his heart put in a headlock by his wife, Linda Marie Bollea, after she surprised him with divorce papers. But now it seems there might be more to the end of their 24 years of wedding bliss than meets the black-and-blue eye.
The attorney representing Ed Graziano -- the father of John Graziano, who was injured while driving with Hogan's son, Nick -- claims the sudden divorce announcement may be a strategic move, reports the St. Petersburg Times.
Lawyer Kimberley Kohn said yesterday (Nov. 26) a divorce would protect the couple's assets when Nick is tried for felony charges of reckless driving with serious bodily injury. Authorities claim Nick was racing with a friend when he crashed, leaving his passenger, John Graziano, in a coma with brain injuries. Police say both cars belonged to the Hogan family.
Kohn maintains that a divorce would not only cut Hulk Hogan's assets in half, but if the cars are not registered to both parents, it could be harder to go after Mrs. Bollea individually.
Hulk Hogan -- who allegedly learned of the divorce from a St. Petersburg Times reporter -- and his lawyers have declined to comment on Kohn's speculation about their motives behind the divorce.
A fake divorce? We just don't believe it. Pro wrestlers would never fake anything!
