Sarah Larson might be sobbing into her pillow today, but the rest of the world’s female population is shedding tears of pure joy. After a year of dating, People magazine reports that George Clooney has split from his girlfriend.
Larson, 29, and Clooney, 47, felt sparks in Vegas in June 2007 and went public with their romance at film festivals last fall. She even had the honour of being the first girlfriend to ever attend the Oscars with the classically handsome leading man.
The actor’s publicist, Stan Rosenfield, would not confirm the report, only saying that he does “not comment on George’s personal life.” But that won’t stop us from believing.
Clooney was spied this past weekend in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, hanging with an all male crew. Also, E! News reports that the couple hasn’t been photographed together since Clooney’s 47th-birthday bash held May 6 in New York. All signs point to a break-up! (Is it evil that we can’t stop spontaneously squealing with delight? It’s like we have Clooney-specific Tourettes…)
Not that we should feel too bad for Larson. In the few short months that she dated our secret boyfriend, she parlayed the relationship into a VIP lifestyle, transforming from a cocktail waitress into a professional model. Plus, she’ll no doubt announce plans to write a book about being the woman who almost convinced Clooney to settle down any day now.
