Coldplay released an official statement about the lawsuit filed against them that alleges the band stole the song "Vida la Vida" from Joe Satriani. The band said, "if there are any similarities between our two pieces of music, they are
entirely coincidental, and just as surprising to us as to him." Yeah, Coldplay doesn't need to steal in order to be unoriginal and derivative; they can do it all by themselves.
