It seems 2 Fast 2 Furious star Paul Walker is getting better acquainted with his franchise's teenaged target demographic. The actor, 35, found himself in the rare position of making headlines this morning when Star Magazine reported he'd popped the question to his 19-year-old girlfriend, Jasmine Pilchard-Gosnell.
A source close to Walker quickly shot down the report, though, telling Us Weekly that the 35-year-old actor and his college-student squeeze "are not engaged."
That close and anonymous pal, however, didn't bother to smooth over any of the other details from the Star report -- such as the fact that Walker and his girlfriend have been dating for three years.
(Excuse us a minute while we do the math...Oh. Ewww.)
According to reports, Walker started seeing Pilchard-Gosnell when she was 16 and he was 32.
As a friend of the couple told Star, "their age difference doesn't scare him." (Neither, apparently, do statutory rape charges.) "He knows she's the one."
But, uh, did she know that? Because, really, at 16 most people think that 2 Fast 2 Furious and Joyride are Oscar-calibre cinema and that driving a van pimped-out to look like the Incredible Hulk is -- ZOMG! -- wicked awesome.
Regardless, Walker appears serious about his not-a-girl-not-yet-a-woman friend. The pair was photographed vacationing together in Maui late last month, and reports speculate they were there to visit Walker's 10-year-old daughter, Meadow.
As Star's source blabbed, Walker "can't wait to add more kids to his life." Sheesh! Isn't one girlfriend enough?
