It's a (Non-Twilight) Vampire Love Connection

February 26, 2009

Here's some shocking news for all you Edward Cullen fans out there: most vampires don't sparkle. In fact, most of them burst into flames in sunlight. Furthermore, instead of constantly moping about how much they want to drink human blood they, you know, actually drink human blood. They usually do this after they've actually killed a bunch of people. We know; it's a lot to take in.

However, it seems that even non-Twilight vampires have a thing for human chicks - and who wouldn't? - as True Blood stars Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin have finally confirmed their real-life romance.

"We are together," Moyer, who plays 173-year-old vampire Bill Compton on the hit HBO drama, tells TV Guide. "We always take the piss out of each other and are silly with each other and it is great. We're very, very happy. She's the best."

Moyer began dating 26-year-old Paquin, who plays telepathic waitress Sookie Stackhouse on True Blood, soon after filming began on the series in 2008. Their relationship was something of an open secret, as most of Hollywood knew about the pairing even though the couple remained quiet – but, now that Paquin and Moyer have moved in together, they feel more comfortable talking about their relationship.

"The reason it was dodged last year was very intentional on both our parts," Moyer explained. "It was very important to me that the cast and crew we were working with didn't feel it was fickle, and didn't feel it could possibly potentially encroach on their lives, you know, just like, 'Oh, the two stars are having a thing.' We didn't want to take anything away from the show. The show is the star, not the two people having a relationship."

Ooh, are your ears burning, Blake Lively and Penn Badgley?
