Gwen Stefani Welcomes Zuma Nesta Rock. It's Either a Son or a New Snapple Flavour

August 22, 2008

Hey baby, hey baby, hey! Gwen Stefani and hubby Gavin Rossdale welcomed their second child into the world Thursday afternoon at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale was born at 12:46 p.m. and weighed 8 1/2 lbs, reports People. The happy fam's rep said in a statement: "Kingston, Gwen and Gavin Rossdale welcomed the newest member of their family. Mother, baby and family are all happy and healthy."

Rossdale's father, Dr. Douglas Rossdale, told People that his son called his relatives in London shortly after the delivery to tell them the happy news.

"We are very pleased for them. He sounded great. Very happy," the elder Rossdale said.

There was no word on why Rossdale, 42, and Stefani, 38, chose the...ahem...unusual name, or if Stefani did so in an epidural-induced haze. As happy as we are for the couple, we can't help but feel a slight twinge of pity for the family's newest addition. Not only is he saddled with a weird moniker, he also has to compete for his parents' attention with 2-year-old big brother Kingston, who may actually be the cutest kid alive. We can't help but turn into a puddle whenever we see pictures of the mohawked moppet...and we're dead inside!
