Do UK tabloid reporters need to re-watch Fame and brush up on a little concept called choreography? British tab The Sun is having a field day with reports that Madonna collapsed twice during Saturday's Sticky & Sweet show in Sofia, Bulgaria. However, a quick YouTube search is leading us to believe that her "collapse" was all part of the act.
The Sun reports that Madonna lost consciousness and had to be held up by a dancer while singing "Holiday." But, judging from the fan-shot concert footage below, her "fainting spell" was completely pre-planned (unless all of her backup dancers were similarly struck with the urge to pass out at the exact same time).
The Sun also claims that Madonna left the stage during "Spanish Lesson" and promptly fell over.
A source told the tab: "Madge was really worried backstage. She had to sit down for a longer break than usual between songs. She refused to end the show or take a break after the Holiday dizzy spell. It turns out she's suffering from exhaustion. She is anemic."
True or not, the reports come on a day when Madonna is probably welcoming the publicity (good or bad). Her latest video, "Celebration," debuted yesterday as a free download on iTunes.
Watch her performance of "Holiday" below and let us know in the comment section if you think she really "collapsed."
