Demi Lovato has had her share of haters.
We're all familiar with Miley's YouTube slam. And then there are the millions of Camp Rock fans who would gladly send her an envelope full of anthrax if it'd keep Lovato's gaze from connecting with a particular bushy-eyebrowed Jonas Brother. As for the rest of us, we can always get a snicker out of her habit of tripping onstage and her horse-sized chompers and... Eep! This kid's such an easy target, she's probably been given a swirlie by Bob Iger himself.
Before all the public nitpicking, though, the ascendant Disney tween queen says she was the target of bullies, and the hassling got so out of order that she switched to home school.
"I asked to leave public school," Lovato told Entertainment Weekly. "I was kind of bullied. I had a hate wall in the bathroom, and everyone signed a petition that said 'We all hate Demi Lovato.'"
A petition to promote the dissing of Demi Lovato: further proof that we're just giving the public the venomous snark it so desires.
On today's Ellen DeGeneres Show, Lovato announced she's planning to start her own counter-movement, if you will, saying she'd like to help other kids who are being bullied at school.
"I want to help with bullying," she says. "Because there are girls who can't just up and home-school and focus on their career."
