Joe Jonas Denies Cheating; Just Has So Much Love to Give

November 14, 2008

The oh-so-high school saga of Joe Jonas and Taylor Swift continues today, as Jonas has turned to the power of the Internet to tell his side of the story. In the past, Jonas has remained mum on their relationship and subsequent breakup, but the teen heartthrob finally broke his silence to respond to Swift's accusations that he cheated on her with actress Camilla Belle.

"They've been together since we broke up," Swift, 18, told Us Weekly on Wednesday. "That's why we broke up - because he met her."

Perhaps sensing that his gaggles of giggling schoolgirls were at risk of defecting to enemy camp, Jonas used – what else? – his MySpace blog to defend himself.

"Several things I will state with all my heart… I never cheated on a girlfriend. It might make someone feel better to assume or imply I have been unfaithful but it is simply not true," he posted, showing an impressive understanding of spelling and grammar. "Maybe there were reasons for a breakup. Maybe the heart moved on. Perhaps feelings changed. I am truly saddened that anything would potentially cause you to think less of me."

Although the 19-year-old never mentioned Swift by name, Jonas did imply that the reason their breakup phone call lasted less than half a minute was that Swift hung up on him.

"For those who have expressed concern over the '27 second' phone call, I called to discuss feelings with the other person," he wrote. "Those feelings were obviously not well received. I did not end the conversation. Someone else did. Phone calls can only last as long as the person on the other end of the line is willing to talk."

You mean Swift didn't want to gab for hours about all the reasons Jonas didn't like her anymore? What a monster.
