Ever wondered just how Matthew McConaughey became such a weirdo hippie surfer dude? Well, he's nothing compared to his weirdo hippie flake of a mom. (We mean that in the nicest way possible, of course.)
In her humbly-titled book, I Amaze Myself!, Kay McConaughey reveals all about her free spirited lifestyle, her son's conception and even how her late husband died in flagrante, if you know what she means, and we think you do.
"On Monday mornings, he and I often said goodbye by making love," the McConaughey matriarch told Us Weekly. "But one day, all of a sudden, it just happened. I knew that something was wrong, because I didn't hear anything from him. Just nothing. But it was just the best way to go!"
Well, well, well – someone has a pretty high opinion of her sexual prowess, huh?
In one of the least startling confessions of the book, the former kindergarten teacher also revealed that her movie star son wasn't exactly planned. You don't say?
"I was deciding, 'Do I want to have another baby? Do I want to have an affair? Or go back to school?'" she said. "That's when Matthew was conceived. We had tried for 16 years and no baby. So Matthew was a big surprise!"
And thank goodness he came along – she probably wouldn't have made nearly as much money if she'd cheated on her husband or went back to school. Who needs fancy book learnin' when you could give birth to the next big star of mediocre romcoms?
