Sharon Stone has lost custody of her eight-year-old son Roan, Entertainment Tonight reports. An entire generation of celebrities thanks you, Stone, for proving that mature actresses your age can do anything -- including losing your kids -- just as well as young upstarts like Britney Spears.
As far as the details go, all that's been dredged up so far are these (guaranteed to knock you out like a case of Nyquil) court documents from a Sept. 12 custody hearing obtained by ET. As the docs state, Stone's ex, newspaper editor Phil Bronstein "shall have permanent sole custody of child. Court finds that Respondent (Sharon Stone) failed to meet her burden of proof and denies Respondent's (Sharon Stone's) request for modification of custody. The judge also notes this order is permanent unless there is a change of circumstances."
Stone and Bronstein adopted Roan in 2000. The couple split in 2004, but Stone has added two more adopted sons to her family. She's mom to Laird, 3, and Quinn, 2.
According to a court document obtained by ET last October, Stone and Bronstein shared "joint legal and physical custody" of Roan prior to this recent decision.
In 2006, reports said that the pair had worked out an unusual custody agreement wherein Stone and Bronstein would spend every other year with Roan. According to a Star story in 2006, this yearly kid swap was to have lasted until 2010.
