Usually, Paris Hilton running for president would be some kind of terrible nightmare, with State dinners every night for her various Chihuahuas and bills making Mystic Tans mandatory for every boy and girl in the country. But, oddly enough, we're a little more open to Paris for President when it means she gets to mock John McCain in the process. What can we say? We're easy.
The air-headed heiress posted a video yesterday to comedy site FunnyOrDie.com in which she shot back at the Republican presidential nominee for his latest controversial campaign ad, in which he name-checks her. McCain's 30-second commercial mocks Barack Obama's popularity, comparing the presidential nominee to infamous celebrities like Britney Spears and Hilton.
"[Obama is] the biggest celebrity in the world," says the commercial as images of the Democratic nominee are juxtaposed with photos of Spears and Hilton. "But is he ready to lead?"
The ad has already garnered plenty of criticism, notably from Rick and Kathy Hilton themselves, who donated to McCain's campaign fund. But Paris wasn't going to take McCain’s barbs lying down, either. Well, OK, she'll take them lying down, but that just happens to be her best position.
"Hey America, I'm Paris Hilton and I'm a celebrity too," a swimsuit-clad Hilton says in her video, as she reclines on a lawn chair. "Only, I'm not from the olden days, and I'm not promising change like that other guy. I'm just hot."
Hilton simultaneously parodies (we hope) her bubblehead reputation and mocks McCain's ad, pretending (we hope) to announce her own candidacy for president.
"That wrinkly white haired guy used me in his campaign ad, which I guess means I'm running for president," the 27-year-old continues. "So thanks for the endorsement, white-haired dude, and I want America to know that I'm, like, totally ready to lead."
As for all you McCain supporters out there: are you sure you want a man who can be ridiculed by Paris Hilton in charge of the most powerful country in the world? We're just saying, when we list the characteristics we look for in a leader, "getting one-upped by the moron from House of Wax" isn't on there.
