Mariah Carey Obtains Marriage License. Dear God, This Wedding Might Be Real

May 2, 2008

Fear not, gossip hounds! Unlike Beyonce and Jay-Z’s still unconfirmed nuptials, we won’t have to spend weeks drowning in did-they-or-didn’t-they speculation surrounding Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon. People magazine is reporting that Carey obtained a marriage license on the Caribbean island of Eleuthera.

The marriage license report supports the New York Post’s claim that Carey and Cannon were wed at the scantily clad singer’s private estate on Windermere Island, just off the coast of Eleuthera.

Carey, 39, has only been dating Cannon, 27, since March. The courtship was so whirlwind, a source tells the New York Post there wasn’t even time to draw up a pre-nup.

No problem! It’s not like Carey, who recently broke Elvis Presley’s record for the most No. 1 hits in the Billboard charts, could possibly be worth more than the guy who starred in…um, Drumline. Oh crap.
