It looks like Naomi Campbell’s court-ordered anger management classes didn’t take. The maid-assaulting supermodel was arrested at London’s Heathrow Airport Thursday, reports Reuters.
Campbell allegedly assaulted a police officer after she misplaced one of her carry-on bags while boarding a British Airways 4 p.m. flight to Los Angeles. She was released on bail just after midnight on Friday and police are still deciding what, if any, charges to press.
According to UK’s The Sun, the glamazon demanded the airline staff find her bag and refused their offer to find it later and forward it on. As the argument escalated, she was deemed unfit to fly and ordered to disembark. According to eyewitnesses, cops arrived and she screamed "get off me, leave me alone" before attacking an officer and being hauled away.
"She was really obnoxious when she arrived at the check-in and because of that, they didn't let her into the VIP lounge," a source tells People magazine, saying the situation escalated when Campbell tried to board the plane with two large carry-ons.
"She was asked to have the second bag checked in and that set her off," the source says. "The aircrew had to call police. She threw a few things around the cabin and then spat at the cops."
Campbell's rep tells a drastically different story, saying in a statement, "Naomi was flying to Los Angeles for a memorial service on Thursday, April 3rd. She arrived at Heathrow Terminal 5 in plenty of time, checked her two bags in and was told they would make the flight. [Once onboard] she was told one bag could not be found and was missing. BA decided to resolve this by insisting she leave the flight and then called the police to forcibly eject her."
There’s no word on the condition of the police officer she allegedly assaulted but, assuming Campbell wasn’t armed with a Blackberry or a sharpened broom handle swiped from her recent community service gig at New York’s sanitation department, he should be fine.
