Britney Spears Dating Her Agent; Fee Raised to 10 Per Cent Plus Makeouts

June 10, 2009

Does an agent get more than 10 per cent if his job description expands to include romancing the client?

Britney Spears, 27, and agent Jason Trawick, 37, have kept us guessing with their long-debated romantic status. The pair has frequently been spotted together at functions that could pass as professional and otherwise (a frolic at Mel Gibson's Costa Rican estate last year, a vacation in the Bahamas this past May), leading to much are-they-or-aren't-they speculation.

However, People magazine -- in its all-knowing relationship status wisdom -- gave the couple its blessing today.

"They are totally and definitely dating," the mag's source says. "Her dad loves him. He's the best thing that happened to her."

"They're very sweet together," People's source continues, saying that the pop-tart has "always had a crush" on her silver (sort of a) fox agent. "He makes Britney really happy, and he's great with the boys."

Earlier this spring, E! Online published rumours about a possible Spears/Trawick hook-up, noting that he tagged along on the first four shows of Spears' ongoing Circus tour. At the time, a spokesperson from the William Morris Agency, which employs Trawick, said that any romance rumours were "ridiculous."

We'll keep that in mind when we eventually launch our pop-music career. William Morris, willing to go the extra mile -- whether that means boogie boarding in Costa Rica or making out on Friday nights.

As one paparazzo for X17 noted last month: "I've never seen any other celebrity spend as much time with their agent as Brit does -- vacation in Costa Rica, dinner, the Bahamas, running out to get Starbucks on a Saturday afternoon -- I mean, it's not just business as usual."
