Mischa Barton’s latest paparazzi pics are quickly turning into a tempest in a teacup (or should we say, a brouhaha in a bikini bottom?). The former OC actress-turned-DUI-apologist is spitting mad over topless photos that were taken of her on an Australian beach April 30. But it’s not her bare breasts that have her crying foul -- it’s the fact that her legs and buttocks appear to be covered in cellulite. The dreaded cottage cheese-like dimples are so pronounced, Barton’s rep has accused the photographer of retouching the photos. (See the photos here.)
"Those photos are doctored," Barton's spokesperson, Lisa Perkins, tells the New York Daily News. "I'm not saying she's perfect, nobody is. But they've given a 22-year-old woman the legs and bottom of an 80-year-old. Look at the shots that were taken shortly before on a beach in L.A. Did she develop all that cellulite in a couple of weeks? There's a lot you can do with Photoshopping."
Barton’s rep claims the photographer, Jamie Fawcett, is trying to get back at the actress after she yelled at him for snapping her topless. But Fawcett claims the photos are legit.
"I wouldn't seek to publicly embarrass her with nudity or health issues or body image issues," he tells the New York Daily News. "It is a shame that publications tend to highlight an issue that is not fair to a young girl. ... However, sometimes these are the things that sell pictures."
Frankly, we couldn’t care less whether or not Barton’s butt bulges are bogus. It’s about time we all moved on from scrutinizing celebrity body parts and mocking stars’ less-than-perfect physiques (especially since, in the case of starlets like Barton, there are so many other things about them worth mocking).
