Indiana Jones and the $65 Million Paycheque

June 16, 2009

In only a year, Harrison Ford managed to make more money than some small countries see in decades. What recession?

Despite being semi-retired, 66-year-old Ford topped Forbes' list of high-earning actors, having made a whopping $64.95 million US between June 2008 and June 2009, mostly due to his lucrative profit-sharing deal for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. (We're glad he profited from it; we're still waiting for our $10 back.)

Coming in second is Adam Sandler, who banked $55 million, thanks to flicks like Bedtime Stories and You Don't Mess With the Zohan, followed by Will Smith ($45 million), Eddie Murphy and Nicolas Cage ($40 million each).

Forbes has yet to reveal the year's top-earning actresses, though last year, the top honours (and paycheques) went to Cameron Diaz ($50 million), Keira Knightley ($32 million) and Jennifer Aniston ($27 million).
