Sorry to burst the matrimonial bubble but, contrary to reports, the Most! Important! Wedding! Ever! didn't take place this weekend. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie remain unhitched despite rampant rumours they wed in New Orleans on Saturday.
Paparazzi agency X17 first reported on the nuptials, claiming the pair wed Saturday night at the French Quarter Wedding Chapel.
Star magazine then jumped on the story, citing "sources in a position to have information" who claimed "There were two weddings, one planned and one unplanned. Brad and Angelina's was the planned ceremony. The weather wasn't good, so we were indoors."
Not so, says Lou Ann Talavera, the co-owner of the French Quarter Wedding Chapel, who tells E! News, "No, they did not come in here yesterday and no, they did not get married here."
People magazine reports the couple were last spotted in Austin, TX, where Pitt is shooting Tree of Life, and haven't been in New Orleans for two weeks.
A source tells Us Weekly "bottom line, they aren't even in New Orleans," adding the marriage reports are "complete and total bullshit."
Even Star has backed off on the story, adding the postscript, "After further investigation, the sources are not standing by their story."
