Judge Tries to Smoke Out Shia LeBeouf

March 19, 2008

Shia LeBeouf has a new role: badass. A warrant was issued Tuesday for Hollywood's latest It Boy after both he and his attorney failed to show up to a court hearing, reports E! News.

LeBeouf was due in a Burbank, Calif., courtroom to answer to a misdemeanor charge for unlawful smoking. Cops allegedly busted the Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull star for unlawful puffing outside a gift shop called Skyblupink, reports TMZ.

When the actor and his lawyer failed to make their court date, the judge issued a $1,000 US bench warrant.

Though a cancer stick-related crime is odd, this hardly qualifies as the strangest incident on LeBeouf's rap sheet. That honour still belongs to the misdemeanor trespassing charge he nabbed after refusing to leave a Chicago Walgreens last November. We can only hope this is all leading up to a future meltdown at Target, where he'll chain himself to a red shopping cart while ranting about their Transformers DVD sale price and puffing on a contraband Cuban cigar.
