In what we can only hope will spark a battle royale-esque showdown between Hollywood's most self-righteous orphan saviours, Angelina Jolie has publicly criticized Madonna's recent adoption.
Speaking to French magazine Gala, Jolie questions the legalities of Madonna's efforts to adopt one-year-old David Banda from Malawi.
"Madonna knew the situation in Malawi, where [David] was born," Jolie tells the mag. "It's a country where there is no real legal framework for adoption. Personally, I prefer to stay on the right side of the law. I would never take a child away from a place where adoption is illegal."
Oh, snap! Jolie then tries to mitigate the blow by throwing the Material Girl a mildly supportive bone, saying, "I have been horrified by the attacks she's been subjected to. All that should count is the happiness of her little David." Still, we're pretty sure the Queen of Pop is already strapping on her cone-shaped brass knuckles and preparing to kick some pretentious, home-wrecking ass.
