Jon & Kate Plus 8 Halting Production; The Dark Age of Ed Hardy and Jam Hands is Over!

October 15, 2009

John & Kate Plus 8 is over. No, seriously, you guys.

Rub your eyes, read it again and pinch yourself to make sure you're awake and not living in some fantasy world where butterscotch fairies make you grilled-cheese sandwiches all day and people just shrug with confusion upon hearing the name "Jon Gosselin."

TLC will halt filming on Jon & Kate Plus 8 in "mid-to-late November," the New York Post reports. And while they'll pop out a few more episodes of the reality octo-drama using pre-existing footage, the dark reign of marital warfare, bad haircuts and jam hands is nearing its end. Unless that Divorced Dads Club reality TV show gets off the ground, we may never hear the name Gosselin again. And let's be honest, nobody wants to see Michael Lohan on TV...

According to People, neither Jon nor Kate has commented on the ending of the show. As reported previously, Jon recently made an attempt to shut down filming because he claimed the production was causing harm to his kids.

Although -- shudder -- the magazine's report does cast a dark shadow on the soon-to-be Gosselin-free future, saying that it's "not clear" whether the show might resume production if Jon had a change of heart about putting the kids on camera.
