Who cares that their latest movies tanked and their talent is overshadowed by their tabloid-hogging relationships? Reese Witherspoon and Angelina Jolie have topped the Hollywood Reporters' annual list of the industry's highest paid actresses of 2007.
Witherspoon commands $15-20 million US just for dragging herself away from her fake relationship with Jake Gyllenhaal and showing up for work. Despite Rendition's disappointing box-office performance, the perky 31-year-old reportedly signed a $29 million dollar deal to produce and star in forthcoming horror flick Our Family Trouble.
Witherspoon's place at the top of the list is notable because she often takes pay cuts for films, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The same can be said for second place actress Jolie, who forfeited her usual asking price of $15 million to get virtually naked in Beowulf, for which she received a mere $8 million. (It looks like poor Maddox, Zahara, Pax and Shiloh are in for a low-key Christmas.)
Cameron Diaz came in third, thanks to her $30 million paycheck for the latest Shrek sequel, while Nicole Kidman came in fourth, despite the fact that her 2007 films, Invasion and Margot at the Wedding, fizzled out faster than her marriage to Tom Cruise.
Rounding out the list are Renee Zellweger, Julia Roberts and Sandra Bullock, who usually fetch $10-15 million, as well as Drew Barrymore, Halle Berry and Jodie Foster, who score an even $10 million per picture.
