In an event that comes as no surprise to anyone who watches The Hills, (stupid) Lauren Conrad and (stupid) Heidi Montag have put aside their (stupid) differences and become (stupid) friends again after running into each other last night at STK in Los Angeles, reports Us Weekly.

Conrad and her entourage were at the restaurant celebrating her runway show and wouldn't you know it? Montag and her boyfriend, Spencer "Biggest Douche in the Universe" Pratt just happened to be at the exact same restaurant! Clearly Conrad and Montag couldn't fight fate. When Montag went over to congratulate her ex-BFF on her fashion line, the two ended up hugging and smiling at each other after only a few minutes.

Considering how every episode of The Hills this season has focused on how much Montag and Conrad miss each other (meaning they needed a storyline to keep viewers interested), it was only a matter of time before they got over themselves and resurrected their friendship. Montag has been giving even more interviews than usual to talk about how sad she is about the feud.

"Obviously I miss [Lauren], and she was my best friend for a really long time," Montag told Extra late last month. "Hopefully one day we will be able to work through this and move on and patch some things up."

Conrad and Montag have not been on speaking terms since between Season 2 and Season 3 of their MTV reality show, when Conrad blamed Pratt for spreading rumours that Conrad and her ex-boyfriend had made a sex tape together. Or, to put it another way, the last time the last time Conrad and Montag were happily photographed together, Montag had her original nose. And no boobs.
